Testimonials

S/Y Bristolian, Captain Gooch
"Our experiences in the Whitsundays were great and only wish we had more time to enjoy it. Commencing with our clearance into Mackay was fuss free; the officials were professional and courteous which made the formalities painless. Mackay facilities and services worked well for us as our turnaround was within 24 hours and were able to get most of our requirements. Hamilton Island Marina was a fantastic stop and your unique concierge service is excellent - a first class idea and most helpful (this is the way forward). You run a very tidy operation and all of your staff were most helpful and we look forward to our return. Superyachts have a wide range of often excessive needs. An onsite marine concierge enhances your package and would be something to push to the market."

CEO of Port Binnli, Jeff Smith
“The Mackay Whitsunday Super Yacht Cluster is an important initiative which has combined the strengths of the combined regions
to attract increasing numbers of superyachts to these waters. The implementation of this website will provide a showcase for the benefits of cruising the Mackay Whitsunday region to all in the superyacht industry.”

Director of Charterworld, Matthew Summerville-Smith
"The MWSYC’s new website is a great source of information for superyachts visiting the region. There is a lot of information on procedures for boats coming to Australia for both Charter and Cruising and some great images and details about the region. We consider it very important to be a member of the MWSYC as we envisage huge potential and growth in the South Pacific and Australia in coming years. We have hundreds of the world’s superyachts listed for charter and encourage charter yachts and their owners and guests to visit the Great Barrier Reef and Whitsunday Islands. It’s a spectacular cruising area combined with first world service.”

"I have been to the region a number of times, so I knew what to expect, the place is awesome it provides some of the best cruising waters in Australia. Diving on the outer reef is amazing and definitely my favourite experience during our visit.

The Mackay Whitsunday Super Yacht Cluster was a great source of information and support during our stay. Their directory made it much easier to find reputable businesses and product providers in the area.

We have seen the region develop over the years and whilst we had great experiences with the companies we used from the cluster including Elite Carpet Cleaning, Meridien Marinas Abel Point, and Hastings Deering, the service from a couple of other businesses was not as impressive.

Last count, we spent over $100K during our 10 weeks in the region. That’s about $39K on fuel, $10K on maintenance and repairs, $26K on provisions and supplies, $8K on restaurants and the rest on flowers, marina berths, transport and crew spending. That should be plenty of motivation for businesses wanting to profit from the superyacht industry.

Thank you to the friendly staff at Abel Point marina and Kelly from the Super Yacht cluster."

"I used to live in Airlie beach for 10 years so I know the area well. It is certainly beautiful cruising.

The region is gearing up to better service the superyacht industry and even though I personally know the area well, I’m sure other captain’s will find the MWSYC directory, website or services very useful. It is a good source of information for suppliers you can rely on.

Some of the members who I can personally recommend include K.P Whitsundays, Hamilton Island Concierge, Whitsunday Provisioning, Meridien Marinas, Whitsunday Marine Management and Elite Carpets.

I always look forward to spending time in the region."
